Workers' Compensation Insurance
Workers' Compensation insurance was developed to protect the employer from expensive lawsuits that may result from an injury that occurred in the workplace. It also ensures the employee receives proper care and compensation for employees who have been injured while working.

Workers' Compensation insurance policies are provided by private insurers; laws and requirements vary by state. The Texas Department of Insurance oversees the workers' compensation system for Texas.
